Surprise, Surprise, Black Ops II Pre Orders Rocket!

It seems people still have it under their belt. And that Black Ops II is doing three times as well as Black Ops did, and is even beating Modern Warfare 3 on pre orders.

Amazon recently stated to consumers. “It’s great to see gamers excited for the new Call Of Duty installment, we’ve already had a load of pre orders!”

Have you pre ordered the new CoD title yet?

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Trailer Released

Finally, the long anticipated sequel to 2010s best-selling game has been announced.  Earlier today, Treyarch released the trailer for Black Ops 2.  While most may assume that we will be fighting in the Cold War, myself included, we couldn’t be more wrong.

The trailer opens up with  Sgt. Frank Woods explaining how technology has gotten more powerful while humans have gotten weaker.  Sgt. Woods is here to tell us about the new technologies of this war, based in 2025.  In the trailer we see several unmanned vehicles, quadcopters sporting machine guns, a four-legged tank, holograms, stealth planes, and horses!

This game seems to take us through every kind of technology from horses to an unmanned war.  There’s a huge chase along a freeway in Los Angeles, planes being flown by the player, and even a horseback chase with helicopters flying overhead.  This sounds like its a mix of Red Dead Redemption and Call of Duty!

I can honestly say, I haven’t been more excited for a game since the announcement of Call of Duty 4.  While I wish I could play it now, we can’t get our hands on the game until November 13, 2012.  Rest assured, you can pre-order now so you can be the first in line at midnight for this epic sequel!

Pokemon Black and White 2 Set for October in America? Europe too?

Pokemon Black and White 2 will be making it’s way to Japan in the coming months, hitting shelves there in Autumn, and we’re still waiting for a Europe and America release date.

But reports have been coming in reporting an October release for B&W 2, and Europe usually follows or even recieves it earlier. This picture from Game show’s an October 2nd release for the two games, which is only less than 6 months away!

Rayman Origins 3DS Delayed..Again!

Rayman Origins 3D was supposedly coming out in the UK this month, 30th to be exact. But it looks like Nintendo and Ubisoft has bushed back the released date for the title, to as far back as June 8th!

The PC version will be coming out still on March 30th in case any of you are wondering, but this news of a pushback isn’t huge news at all, as the game is already out on Xbox, PS3, Wii, PS Vita and soon, PC!

Despite the Game coming out in November, some people have still been waiting for a Rayman Origins 3D, instead of for the other consoles the game has been made avaliable for.

So, you disappointed for the push backed release date? Or you planning just to stick with your Rayman Origins you have on any other console?

PS Vita. Should You Buy It Yet?

On the 15th of February, America got their hands on the first PS Vita’s available, the First Edition Bundles. These released with either the selected Wi-Fi or 3G model, alone with a copy of ‘Little Deviants’, and also the slightly overpriced memory card from Sony, this one being only a 4GB one. So it’s nearly been a month from when this bundle was released, and if you haven’t picked one up yet, is now the time?

Depends on what your looking for. Because not much has actually changed from back in February, to now being around the middle of March. It still has the vast array of titles from Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Rayman Origins, to one of my favourites, Wipeout 2048, which makes use of this systems amazing quad-core processor in-built into the system. Pricing stays the same at around £219 for a Wi-Fi edition, but can be found at Amazon UK for £209.99, along with an 8GB card for £20, and a £15 game, all bundled together for £244.99. The games include titles like Rayman Origins, FiFa Football, and Lumines Electronic Symphony. But sadly no Uncharted or Wipeout here.

The only big game to be released since the launch day is ‘Unit 13′, which was available on March 9. But probably didn’t get the launch it wanted since of the other titles like Mass Effect 3, coming out on the same day.

So do you have a PS Vita? You planning on getting one soon? Or you waiting for a price drop just like the rest of us?

Pokemon Black & White 2 Case Mock Ups Released

Earlier, we announced news of the new Pokemon announced by the Pokemon company, Pokemon Black and White ’2′ http://techsquare.co.uk/?p=912‘ We now have box art mocks of these two games, and it has become apparent that the legendary Pokemon of the versions have been switched, so it will make more sense if you pick up the same version as you did before, so I would be picking up Pokemon White, but be recieving Reshiram.

But wait, apparently, these two are going to be complete new Pokemon, and their names are going to be announced later next week! Dates have been accounted for and are said to be released in Japan in June, and US later in the year, and Europe probably getting it around the same time, as Europe did receive Black and White two days earlier than the US!

So are you excited? We certainly are!

PS Vita Just Days Away!

So some people have the PS Vita in America, by ordering the pre-order edition in the US, with a bundle including a 4GB micro sd card, case and a game, for around $349, 3G version. But otherwise, if we do want to just get the the Vita, with a choice of out own game, instead of the one that comes with the vita, we’ll have to wait until February 22nd unfortunately

But again, we’re just saying now, we won’t be picking one up until the price comes down, or it gets nearer the festive period, when the price becomes even lower anyway. But we are very excited for some of the games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss and of course, one of my favourite games, Rayman Origins. It would be fun to try out that game with the 5″ OLED screen, and the rear touchpad.

So, only 3 days to go for us until the 22nd of February! You pre-ordered yours? Or you going to take the same stratergy as the 3DS, and wait for a price drop?

Batman: Arkham City Review

Earlier, I picked up Batman: Arkham City for the Xbox 360, I’m really enjoying the concept of the story, and I love the graphics the game has to offer. So, the storyline…

The main character in the story is of course, Batman. Who has powers which help you a lot throughout the game, including being able to attack enemies, and also the ability to grip on to objects, like buildings and helicopters. This feature is very fun to use, but can sometimes be a little difficult to control.

The game comes in a heap of editions to choose from. Of course, there’s the normal edition. But the slightly more expensive editions goes as followed. There’s the exclusive Robin edition (Game & Gamestation), the exclusive Joker edition (Tesco) and the version I picked up, the exclusive Penguin edition (Blockbuster), versions featuring Catwoman and Two-Faced have also been released, but are not exclusive. There’s also the more expensive collectors edition, which comes with an artbook, statue and more. The Robin, Joker, Penguin, Catwoman and Two-Faced editions come with a steelbook case, featuring the character of your edition on the back, and a picture of Batman on the front. The editions are all the same otherwise.

The game itself is very amusing, and the game gives you a lot of stuff for you to do, including sidequests, objectives and side missions later on in the game. The game also uses stunning HD graphics, and in my opinion is one of the best looking games on the market right now.

However, the game does contain it’s floors. For example, we find that the game can seem a bit dark, not because it’s a Batman game, obviously it’s going to be dark. What we mean is the game can be a little hard to see. Which can sometimes ruin the game, and also make the graphics look worse than they really are.

We’re not saying run out and get this game, it is an extraordinary game. But we find that this game isn’t full marks. We hope that the next Batman can pick up the pieces, and hopefully it won’t be long until we see the next Batman hitting our shelves. 8.5/10

Razer Introduced Gaming Tablet PC

The hardware manufacturer announced a high-specs tablet PC designed for gaming today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Project Fiona hardware includes a 10″ multi-touch display, a powerful Core i7 processor from Intel, and two force feedback-equipped gamepad controllers.

Razer touts the machine’s ability to play gamepad-enabled PC games – which include most console cross-platform titles such as Skyrim and Arkham City – without them needing to be modified at all for the device. It is unclear whether Project Fiona runs any kind of Windows-based operating system.

In addition to the touchscreen and gamepad inputs, Project Fiona has a gyroscope, magnetometer, and accelerometers for motion-based control methods. The concept tablet also supports Dolby 7.1 surround sound in case you have a pair of extremely expensive headphones to plug into it.

Putting this hardware package together at the announced “sub-$1000″ price point is impressive, but the announcement leaves many questions unanswered.  What kind of graphics hardware is it packing? Why bother with the tablet form factor when it seemingly won’t have access to the touchscreen-based game development going on with iOS and Android? Does anyone really want a tablet with a big controller bolted onto each side? How would you maintain your dignity when you pull this bad boy out of your backpack on the bus?

CES is the place for weird new concepts that may or may not turn into actual products, and so Project Fiona should be right at home there. It’ll be interesting to see if Razer ever actually releases a consumer device based on this design.

HTC Titan II Announced at CES

At last, one of the first major smartphones to be announced at CES, have been comfirmed by HTC. There new handset the HTC Titan II will feature astonishing features, which give the iPhone a huge run for their money. Including a 16MP camera, yes that’s right, 16! And also a 1.5GHz Snapdragon Processor. Comparing it to devices like the Flyer, which featured a single core 1GHz processor.

Now the reason why this device is called a titan, is because it offers one of the biggest screen in the smartphone market, a full high-definition 4.7″ display, and also packing in Windows Phone 7 OS.

So, what’s your opinion, do you own the first HTC Titan? Will you be upgrading? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Top 3 Games from 2011 You Cannot Ignore

In 2011, we saw a whole range of games, on all of the console platforms we are familiar today, all of the major game manufacturers. From Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, to Ubisoft and Sega, we saw one of the most memorable years for gaming in history, so we have gathered out top 3 games from 2011. So while you’re at home playing Skyrim or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, here are Andrew’s picks for games that are vital to have for your console.

#3 – The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – Publisher: Nintendo/Nintendo Wii
The Wii hasn’t had it’s best year for gaming, let’s be honest. But when we come across titles like Skyward Sword, it’s time to wipe the dust off your Wii, and head to town and pick this up. This game features stunning graphics, a whole new Zelda experience, and also a game to keep you busy over the next few winter months, a game you cannot miss out on if you are a Zelda fan.

#2 – Super Mario 3D Land – Publisher: Nintendo/Nintendo 3DS

In 2011, we saw the Nintendo 3DS hit the shelves and so far it’s been a massive hit. The company sold 320,000 units in Japan in just two days, while the Vita has struggled to reach 75,000 in the week ending on 25th December sure, it didn’t have the best start, but Nintendo soon picked up by releasing titles like LoZ: Ocarina of Time 3D and Starfox 64 3D in the spring/summer months. Then in November, we saw one of the best titles to hit the 3DS since the release, Super Mario Land 3D. This game offers full 3D graphics, a full Mario experience, and a platformer that will take a lot of beatingnce, and cannot be avoided by any Mario fan. If you’ve had your 3DS sitting on the side for the last few months, now is the time to relive your favourite Mario titles, with Super Mario 3D Land.

#1 – Rayman Origins – Publisher: Ubisoft/Nintendo Wii/PlayStation 3/Xbox 360

This is one of my favourite games of all time, and not just 2011, and that’s a big statement. Even though this game has proven to be popular in the stocks, we still think this game deserves more than that. It could be timing, and that the game was released too near huge hyped up games like Modern Warfare 3 + Skyrim. But  with recent price cuts and sales. You can easily find this game for £20 new at places like Game + Amazon. The main reason we adore this title is because it’s beautiful, It has stunning design and artworks, the soundtrack is phenomenal, and to be honest, it’s rather addicting. Also offering over 65 gorgeous levels, 10 worlds and 4-player co-op, this is one game that shouldn’t be ignored, and if you haven’t picked up your copy. For £20, you cannot go wrong with this title

Forza Motorsport 4 Review – Xbox 360

Forza Motorsport 4 Review

Publisher: Microsoft
Platform: Xbox 360
RRP : £39.99
Microsoft Speed Wheel: Around £35
The Game
Forza Motorsport 4, is a racing game, as the name suggests. It starts with Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear) talking you through different aspects of the game, saying how you two are the same. The Top Gear theme runs through the game. You can chose to listen to the rest of his voice overs, so that you can just get on with the gaming experience. Forza 4 is excellent and gives  people that are new to racing a very enjoyable first time experience because the level of driving assistance can be entirely changed for your liking, this means that any and all players can play at their own difficulty level. The career mode starts with slow, ‘F’ grade cars allowing players to learn the basics to driving. You then get given better cars as the career mode goes on. Starting at ‘F’ and going all the way to ‘X’ cars.
The currency in the game is called ‘Credits’ which can be earned in any and every race. For example, the higher the difficulty of the race, you earn more credits, and same occurs the higher you place in and race on Forza 4. 1st being the most amount of credits you can be paid, usually about a 10% difference between each position. It’s hard to explain why Forza 4 is such an enjoyable game, we think because it’s easy to pick up if you are new to the franchise of Forza Motorsport. It’s also much sweeter if you are about to pick this up as the game is only available on the Xbox platform, which makes you able to brag to your PS3 friends about this game
The multiplayer is also very enjoyable and has many different game modes, from regular racing all the way to football. Football… In cars, it can’t get much better than that!
So if you’re looking for an excellent, fun and addicting driving experience, we recommend you pick up Forza 4. Also avaliable is the Microsoft Speed Wheel, which can be used in conjunction with Forza 4, or just about any other driving game that you might own. [Pictured below].
Our Rating
Overall, I would say that this is a very entertaining game and would give it an 8  out of 10.
If Forza 4 is a little over your price range, you may want to pick up Forza 3, can be found pre-owned for as little as £5. £40 bundle if brought with the speed wheel.  As you would be paying around £75 if wanting Forza 4 instead. You choose!
