Microsoft is set to release Windows Phone 8 later this year, and Windows Phone 7.8 as an upgrade for 7.5 users, and here leaked is a picture of a yellow Lumia device, running either WP 7.8 or 8.
Here you can see the upgraded start screen, as well as looking like having a pretty big screen, maybe a Lumia 910? Who knows!
Recently I saw a few Torrents which include Windows 8 RTM. Versions Basic and Enterprise. Every .iso is about 3-3.5 GB so it’s real for sure.

With not long to wait until the inevitable Minecraft will finally hit the shelves on the Xbox Live Marketplace, Microsoft have released a launch trailer, to keep us on our feet for May 9th. The game will feature local multiplayer, which will allow split screen for up to for people, and will be available for a hefty sum of 1600 Microsoft points, which is equivalent to under the £15 mark.

The innovative Call of Duty franchise may soon be greeted with a follow up to one of 2010′s biggest shooters, Black Ops, and we could be seeing Black Ops 2 as soon as November 13th, according to a report from US group Target.
However with Halo 4 coming out only on the 4th of the same month, both games could face some rival competition with each other, and maybe need a re-think of the release dates to avoid clashing.

Back in January when Nokia first announced their first Pureview phone, everyone assumed that this phone will run the Symbian Belle operating system, but most people interested didn’t care, and really were interested in the 41 mega pixel camera on offer.
But however the Finnish group did however state that this device WOULD be making it’s way over to the Windows Phone platform after all, and if this does happen, this would be a huge boost for Microsoft and Windows Phone.

The HTC Titan was arguably one of the best Windows Phone/HTC devices that was released in 2011, and only 5 months down the line, the Titan II has been announced, and three months later, released onto the market.

With Angry Birds Space making it’s way across the likes of iOS and Android. Windows Phone 7 uses appear to be left out.
Rovio confirmed that WP7 will not be receiving the inevitable new Angry Birds title, as it will cost too much, and the OS isn’t big enough.
But Rovio CEO Mikael Hed quickly changed the statement that Microsoft and Rovio are working on bringing Angry Birds Space to the Windows Phone 7 market!

As you may know, I have just recently moved to the Windows Phone 7 0S, from Microsoft, and I love it. Especially the customisation features you can do on it, Xbox Live integration, and also the live tiles are amazing, and so cool to have. But what about my phone itself? You can’t have an amazing OS, while if your handset if next to crap, it can ruin the experience.
So, let’s get down to business, here is the Nokia Lumia 710 review.
The first thing that comes to mind after picking one of these up. Is the feel of it, It’s amazing. The size is just perfect, at 3.7″ screen. It’s not a like a small 3″ screen, nor a massive 4.65″ HTC Titan. And apps and games look amazing on the screen, despite it being a low pixel screen.
The 710 has the ability to change the back covers on the phone. And has a lot of different backs to choose from. Most handsets come with the black back, along with another one free, mine came with the blue colour. But you can buy others separately. But these can be pretty hard to find, and are usually quite expensive, which is a real shame. But otherwise, this is a really neat idea from Nokia.
As you all know, I love the Windows Phone OS from Microsoft. And that’s the main reason I picked up this phone, If It had android, I would have just avoided it. And the phone and the OS work really well together.
Now, onto specs. Despite the 710 being considerably cheaper than the likes of the Lumia 800. The 710 has a 5MP camera, with auto-focus, and also a single LED flash, while the 800 has a slightly better 8MP Carl-Zeiss lens, aswell as auto-focus. Now I’m going to say right of the bat, I’m in love with the camera on this phone, despite being only a pretty average 5MP. The features are immense. Being able to shift the light to one area of the picture, it’s just really good, and It would look even better on the Lumia 800s 8MP Carl-Zeiss lens.
Pricing is where the phones at, being around £150-£200 PAYG is a bargain, but some of you are properly waiting for the much hyped Nokia Lumia 610. My advise is DON’T. When Microsoft say this is a slimmed down of WP7. It really is. Some apps don’t work, some key feautures, and also being really sluggish, makes it sensible to put some extra cash to get a decent WP7 handset, and get all the elements of WP7 you brought the phone for.
So, closing thought. Amazing phone for the price, if you always wanted a Windows Phone 7 handset, without wanting to fork out for a device like the Lumia 800, or the HTC Titan. This certainly won’t disappoint you, considering the features on board, and also mentioning the phone’s 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor. It’s just an all round spectacular phone.
I’ve been a fan of the Android OS since I got my HTC Wildfire over a year ago. And to be honest, all the other operating systems didn’t really get to me. I already owned an iPod Touch with iOS 5. I love it, there’s no need for an iPhone in my opinion. And then there’s Windows Phone. Which I always thought was all of the phones we’re too expensive for what they are. Yes, iPhone’s are plus £500 nowadays. But we’re use to that anyway. I decided to sell my HTC Wildfire for £60, as the phone was becoming really sluggish and hard to use now. So I just thought that all I need to do is upgrade to a new Android device. Which was going to be the Samsung Galaxy Ace.
Now, James, our Administrator already has this device, and it seems to work great, but It was hard not to join the WP7 bandwagon, as everyone seemed to like it and be in on it. Then recently, I saw Nokia’s latest WP7 handset, the Lumia 710, and also on my preferred network, Vodafone. Which I have been using since my HTC Wildfire. The phone was an amazing £150, on PAYG. Which just seemed too good to be true! And this one had a 1.4GHz processor, 8GB Memory, 3.7″ screen, and of course, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS. So I went into Vodafone and decided to pick one of these up.
I love it, I so much prefer this device over any Android device I’ve owned/seen. Even my uncle’s new Samsung Galaxy SII. And this phone is just a joy t0 use. And that is how and why I decided to switch to Windows Phone 7.
While Nokia have been shouting about their huge and popular Nokia 800, it seems that the 710 has been a little quiet. Until in the past 24 hours, we’ve heard a lot more for the Lumia 710.
Yes, we know the phone is out in the USA, but we have yet heard news for the UK release of this phone. But now we’ve heard from numerous sites including TechnoBuffalo, that this handset will be hitting UK shelves by 1st February!
The phone is expected to be less than the Lumia 800, which is going for around £26 on contract (£449 PAYG), while the 710 should be coming in at around £16 a month (£250 PAYG). The handset will also run Windows Phone 7,5 Mango, 5MP camera and a 3.7″ display.

At last, one of the first major smartphones to be announced at CES, have been comfirmed by HTC. There new handset the HTC Titan II will feature astonishing features, which give the iPhone a huge run for their money. Including a 16MP camera, yes that’s right, 16! And also a 1.5GHz Snapdragon Processor. Comparing it to devices like the Flyer, which featured a single core 1GHz processor.
Now the reason why this device is called a titan, is because it offers one of the biggest screen in the smartphone market, a full high-definition 4.7″ display, and also packing in Windows Phone 7 OS.

HTC, one of the largest mobile phone companies in the world, have release new images about their iPhone killer, the HTC Radiant. We expect to hear more on HTC’s new handset at CES 2012 in the coming week. Last year we saw the release of two of HTC’s most promising devices. The HTC Radar, and the massive HTC Titan. These two phones will burn holes in your pocket at prices from £350 to £500. The Radiant looks to be a very impressive and promising device. packing Windows Phone 7 and a processor to compete with phones such as the iPhone 5 (Coming later this year) and the Galaxy S3 (fingers crossed more info coming at CES 2012). From the picture, the camera looks pretty decent. Looking to be around an 8MP camera, with flash capabilities. The front looks promising too with a high resolution display, possibly around 4.3″ screen to rival the Galaxy S, and the usual Windows Phone 7 touch sensitive buttons nearer the bottom. Also the usual 3.5mm headphone socket at the top. We will keep this post up to date with news and updates for the HTC Radiant. Picture below from WPCentral.

Like 2011, companies came up with lots of exiting and innovating products, like the rise of Tablet PCs and even more powerful laptops and computers.
Let’s focus on Acer, a company mostly known for their take on computers, laptops and most recently, tablets. With their recent installment of the Acer a500 tablet, which has been a real competitor to Apple and their iPad. So, what can we expect?
We can probably expect the usual from Acer, a huge range of computers being launched, from netbooks to desktops, we should see the lot. But what we should see is what companies like Lenovo and Apple have started doing, which is the introduction of Ultrabooks, which are basically untra thin laptops, but still hold all the features of a normal computer. E.g. 15.6″ screen, around 3GB ram, and a big harddrive. These have seemed to be really popular, and Acer probably know a lot about laptops and computers to release their own one to market. We also expect Acer to take a bigger plunge to the mobile phone market, by releasing a slurry of phones to the market to compete with Apple’s iPhone 4S (and speculated iPhone 5 coming later this year)
So that’s Acer, what other brands should we hunt out?
