Surprise, Surprise, Black Ops II Pre Orders Rocket!

It seems people still have it under their belt. And that Black Ops II is doing three times as well as Black Ops did, and is even beating Modern Warfare 3 on pre orders.

Amazon recently stated to consumers. “It’s great to see gamers excited for the new Call Of Duty installment, we’ve already had a load of pre orders!”

Have you pre ordered the new CoD title yet?

Black Ops 2, What You Need To Know!

So, most of you have heard about the next Call of Duty, c0ming out on November 13th. It is the sequel to the relentlessly successful Black Ops, with a 2 in front. Hoping t0 beat MW3 7 million copies on launch record, Treyarch have gone for a slightly different approach then we might expected. Here is what has a happened.

Black Ops was set during the Cold War (1960′s), so were roughly 50 years off MW3′s time of 2012-2015. However, instead of putting the game into the civil wars of 1980′s, Black Ops 2 has jumped ahead of Activision, with the game set in 2025! The reveal trailer showing us the most futuristic CoD we have seen yet. The Heli tab is set to make an appearance, as well as the guns and locations were use to  (M4, ACR, UMP) ect. If you haven’t seen the reveal trailer, you can watch the video uploaded by Treyarch.

It is also rumoured that CoD XP will be taking place in Florida, USA.

So, what do you make of all this? Will you be buying the game, or was Black Ops not what it could have been? Comments below!

Rayman Legends Confirmed!

The Rayman Legends trailer, that we leaked only a few days ago, has now been confirmed by Ubisoft as a sequel to Rayman Origins.

The game should be coming out around the Wii U period, maybe late 2012, and will offer itself on a wide range of consoles, and also will offer a multi-player experience, in which the first game did not.

Check out the trailer and our other post on this below!

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 Rumoured for November 13th?

The innovative Call of Duty franchise may soon be greeted with a follow up to one of 2010′s biggest shooters, Black Ops, and we could be seeing Black Ops 2 as soon as November 13th, according to a report from US group Target.

However with Halo 4 coming out only on the 4th of the same month, both games could face some rival competition with each other, and maybe need a re-think of the release dates to avoid clashing.

What do you think of Black Ops 2 coming out this winter? Check the image below of what seems to be a Target reservation card for the game for both Xbox(left) and PS3(right)

Rayman Origins 2 Confirmed?

The highly popular and award winning game from Ubisoft ‘Rayman Origins is likely to receive a sequel in the next coming year Arkenford a survey group announced.

The game despite being released in a very bad time period, still made Ubisoft a lot of money, sales were relatively good and also won an award for best graphics, has been a hit for many fans of Rayman, and most will love this news of a sequel. The 3DS version is also allocated to join the Vita, PS3, Xbox and Wii versions in June.

Skyrim on Kinect

Have you ever had that moment in Skyrim when you wanted to yell “Fus Do Roh” to kill a Dragon? Well, you’ll be happy to know that Bethesda has announced Kinect integration for Skyrim!  Starting later this month, free of charge, an update will roll out to Kinect users featuring over 200 voice commands.

Along with shouting another language at their Xbox, players will be able to command followers, set up hotkeys, and control menus (Magic, Barter, Map, Items, Container, Favorites, and Skills). Thanks to the new voice command system, saving in-game, or loading, will be easier than ever. For example, saying “Quicksave” will save the game mid-fight, while “Quickload” will revert to the last save.  Players will also be able to switch between weapons and spells mid-fight without scrolling through a menu such as: “Equip Axe and Shield” or “Equip Restoration.”  This update will also enable players to sort  inventories by name, weight, or value.

Bethesda has also announced that this update will include new locations, quests, features, and a lot more.  The entire list of voice commands is expected to be released in the next few weeks, so be sure to check back for more details.

SSX (Xbox 360) Review

Everyone loves it when popular and amazing games receive a remake by their developers. We’ve had Ocarina of Time remake to the 3DS, soon to have a Pokemon Black and White Remake/Sequel, and now one of the origional Xbox’s and PS2′s biggest title, SSX, has finally his the Xbox 360 and PS3!

Incase you’re not familiar with the SSX franchise, it’s a typical Snowboarding game, developed by EA. Where you travel though some of the worlds best landscapes and and mountains, and try and beat opponents, preform stunning tricks, and also earn medals for your troubles.

The controls work really well together, there’s not many controls needed to play the game, so EA decided to allow most of the other buttons (Shapes for PS3, Colours for Xbox) allow you to preform various tricks, with the A(Xbox) and X(PS3) buttons making the player jump, these work very well together, however some practice is needed to figure out how all the tricks work with each other, and how you can earn more points, but you do have a practice as soon as you load the game for the first time.

There are multiple ways to play this game, you can either race across the globe, which is the main event on this game, you compete with other people on races, and if you get a high enough score, other courses are unlocked, and you progress futher. However my favourite mode is going across all the areas, and trying to obtain the different bronze, silver and gold medals, which can provide a challenge at times, but can get really frustrating trying to obtain these, as most of the achievements needed require you to obtain thise medals, so good luck!

The multilayer aspects work well too, the multiplayer pass which EA give you free if you buy the game new, allow you to race with other people across the globe, and also compete with other people to try and obtain the highest score on an event, if you do however pick up this game used, the EA pass is a must, and it’s unlikely you’ll revieve an unused pass, and if I remember rightly, it’s around 800MSPs on the Xbox Marketplace, so do invest into that!

All in all, we think EA provided us with a really good remake, it does have it’s bad points, and some players will find it hard diving in to this game, however, I think this game is a great way to jump into the SSX franchise, and that I hope EA import this onto devices such as the PS Vita, and also future consoles aswell!

Rayman Origins 3DS Delayed..Again!

Rayman Origins 3D was supposedly coming out in the UK this month, 30th to be exact. But it looks like Nintendo and Ubisoft has bushed back the released date for the title, to as far back as June 8th!

The PC version will be coming out still on March 30th in case any of you are wondering, but this news of a pushback isn’t huge news at all, as the game is already out on Xbox, PS3, Wii, PS Vita and soon, PC!

Despite the Game coming out in November, some people have still been waiting for a Rayman Origins 3D, instead of for the other consoles the game has been made avaliable for.

So, you disappointed for the push backed release date? Or you planning just to stick with your Rayman Origins you have on any other console?

Cloud Gaming Company Predicts Sony Or Microsoft Will Not Have A Next-Gen Console

Yesterday Sony shot down persistent rumors that the PlayStation 4 will be debuting at E3 later this year. Now a representative of cloud gaming company Gaikai is saying that the truth about the next generation of gaming consoles could be even more shocking.

Industry Gamers reports that Gaikai chief product officer Nanea Reeves commented on the future of gaming consoles during CES: “Not all of the current console makers will have one more generation. That will be the big news at E3.”

Reeves provided no further clarification on these statements as far as Industry Gamers notes.

While this statement might seem surprising, it’s worth keeping in mind that as a company focused on cloud gaming — allowing consumers to play graphically high-end games on low-power computers by streaming them across the Internet — Gaikai has a very strong interest in making people believe that the very near future of gaming lies somewhere other than a more powerful set of consoles that are still largely disc-based. As such, I’m going to take this prediction with a suitable grain of salt.

Gaikai has been working on cloud gaming technology since 2008 and is most known for the involvement of Shiny founder David Perry. If either Microsoft or Sony truly bow out of the console race, it will be the first time a major manufacturer has disappeared from gaming hardware since Sega discontinued the Dreamcast in 2001.

PSVita, Sony’s New Handheld at CES

While it isn’t until February that we will be seeing the PlayStation Vita (Others calling it the PS4), we have had numerous reports on the device from CES, including videos, new images and more! Unfortunately, we cannot be at CES 2012, so we’ve managed to find some videos about the PSVita, thanks to YouTubers SoldierKnowsBest and Jon4Lakers, we’ve been able to find out more information of the Vita, so sit back, and enjoy these videos!

Top 3 Games from 2011 You Cannot Ignore

In 2011, we saw a whole range of games, on all of the console platforms we are familiar today, all of the major game manufacturers. From Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, to Ubisoft and Sega, we saw one of the most memorable years for gaming in history, so we have gathered out top 3 games from 2011. So while you’re at home playing Skyrim or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, here are Andrew’s picks for games that are vital to have for your console.

#3 – The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – Publisher: Nintendo/Nintendo Wii
The Wii hasn’t had it’s best year for gaming, let’s be honest. But when we come across titles like Skyward Sword, it’s time to wipe the dust off your Wii, and head to town and pick this up. This game features stunning graphics, a whole new Zelda experience, and also a game to keep you busy over the next few winter months, a game you cannot miss out on if you are a Zelda fan.

#2 – Super Mario 3D Land – Publisher: Nintendo/Nintendo 3DS

In 2011, we saw the Nintendo 3DS hit the shelves and so far it’s been a massive hit. The company sold 320,000 units in Japan in just two days, while the Vita has struggled to reach 75,000 in the week ending on 25th December sure, it didn’t have the best start, but Nintendo soon picked up by releasing titles like LoZ: Ocarina of Time 3D and Starfox 64 3D in the spring/summer months. Then in November, we saw one of the best titles to hit the 3DS since the release, Super Mario Land 3D. This game offers full 3D graphics, a full Mario experience, and a platformer that will take a lot of beatingnce, and cannot be avoided by any Mario fan. If you’ve had your 3DS sitting on the side for the last few months, now is the time to relive your favourite Mario titles, with Super Mario 3D Land.

#1 – Rayman Origins – Publisher: Ubisoft/Nintendo Wii/PlayStation 3/Xbox 360

This is one of my favourite games of all time, and not just 2011, and that’s a big statement. Even though this game has proven to be popular in the stocks, we still think this game deserves more than that. It could be timing, and that the game was released too near huge hyped up games like Modern Warfare 3 + Skyrim. But  with recent price cuts and sales. You can easily find this game for £20 new at places like Game + Amazon. The main reason we adore this title is because it’s beautiful, It has stunning design and artworks, the soundtrack is phenomenal, and to be honest, it’s rather addicting. Also offering over 65 gorgeous levels, 10 worlds and 4-player co-op, this is one game that shouldn’t be ignored, and if you haven’t picked up your copy. For £20, you cannot go wrong with this title

The New Modern Warfare 3 Map Pack is Coming!

Call of Duty fans have been familiar with receiving brand new maps within the first few months of the new year, and it’s the same for MW3! On the 24th January, a new map pack, announced by Robert Bowling on his twitter, will probably have 4 new maps for MW3 for the Premium Elite users.

The only released map so far has been ‘Park’, an open map which looks great for snipers and air support! It looks similar to stadium from Black Ops which was personally one of my favourite maps in the game! Hopefully more maps will be released with in the new year.

Guys without Elite are expected to have it around a month later, but it’s well worth the £40 fee if you intend to buy all the map packs! Updates for the maps in the pack are coming soon, so stay looking for them!
